Benvenuto Cellini did magnificent gold work. A fine example of this is the Saliera, Cellini's Gold salt cellar with ivory and enamel detailing. It features a man representative of the sea. He holds the salt. The woman is representative of the earth and has a receptacle for the pepper. The gold of the statue was not fashioned by being poured into a mould, it was hammered into shape by hand.

Cellini's bronze Danaë and Her Son Perseus is an ode to classic Grecian culture and mythology. It is tied to another of his sculptures, Perseus with the Head of Medusa, a scene from much later within the same myth.
I have commissioned from Cellini a gold statue, standing at knee height of my sister and her husband to honor their wedding. It will have enamel and ivory detailing and sit on a marble pedestal. I am also having him dedicate his next book to him
